Application performance Management is a Critical aspect of any non-trivial applications with more than few users using the application even on an intermittent basis. Any application which does not meet the user's expected performance level runs the risk of having significantly reduced oprerational Lifecycle. Continued performance outside of the SLA may causes the user community to propose to the Upper Management that the application components be revamped. Or even worse, the users recommend that the entire application be completely re-engineered, so that the applications can be used within the expected SLAs. A careful consideration of application performance aspects in the analysis and design phase can avoid many of the performance risks in the later LifeCycles of the application. And hence reduces the risks and cost associated with the application in its later life cycle. Overall, it helps increase the Total Cost of Ownership of the application platform.
